HealthSouth Gives Back to Those Who Have Been Given a Second Chance

2/01/2013

Life has a way of throwing things at a person when they least expect it. An illness or an injury can make moving forward hard for people. This is why HealthSouth Emerald Coast Rehabilitation Hospital and Second Chance teamed up to help people in need. HealthSouth was the title sponsor for the Second Chance Charity Golf Tournament helping raise almost $12,000 for Second Chance of Northwest Florida.

"I am very grateful for the support of our sponsors and volunteers who helped make the event possible" said Sheryl Morden, President of Second Chance of Northwest Florida.  Proceeds from the tournament helped purchase a 25 passenger van for Second Chance clients.  The van will allow Second Chance to take their clients on outings in the community and further their goal of making a difference in the lives of brain injury survivors.  By helping to restore hope and dignity, individuals are given the support they need to function at the highest level possible, both in the community and their personal lives.

By giving back to the community HealthSouth is able to honor the accomplishments patients have made since their injury or illness. "Getting patients back to their active lives is our mission at HealthSouth Emerald Coast Rehabilitation Hospital," says Tony Bennett, HealthSouth Emerald Coast Rehabilitation Hospital CEO.
